The course is coordinated by Maestro Valerio Alfieri, an internationally renowned maestro who has created lighting designs for major opera productions at the Puccini Festival and numerous national and international opera houses. His career in the entertainment industry began in 1981, when he took on the role of chief electrician at the Teatro Regionale Toscano, a position he held until 1987, working both in-house and in major Italian theaters during tours. During these years, he collaborated with leading figures in the theater world, such as Luca Ronconi, Franco Zeffirelli, Roberto de Simone, Roberto Guicciardini, Antoine Vitez, and Franco Branciaroli. In 1987, together with four colleagues, he founded the company F.lli Edison, specializing in technical services for entertainment and fashion. Here he contributed to the company&#8217;s success as technical manager and lighting designer, working for fashion shows by Armani, Gianfranco Ferr\u00e9, Donna Karan, Dolce &amp; Gabbana, Moschino, Hugo Boss, and many other brands.<br>In 1988, he began working intensively as a lighting designer and technical manager for Italian festivals and theaters: the Montepulciano Festival, the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, the Montalcino Festival, and the Teatro Stabile in Bolzano. Between 1991 and 1992, he served as technical manager for the Teatro Stabile della Sardegna. During the same period, he contributed to the founding of the Associazione Tecnici Teatrali e dello Spettacolo (Association of Theater and Entertainment Technicians), which under his leadership reached 560 members, becoming a national reference point for professionalism and organization in the sector. From 1993 to 1996, he collaborated with the Teatro Stabile di Parma, alternating between the roles of lighting designer and technical manager in productions directed by Walter Le Moli, Gigi Dall&#8217;Aglio, Cristina Pezzoli, and Peter Stein. 1996 marked the beginning of an international collaboration with Robert Wilson, participating as assistant lighting designer in the show \u201cGiorgio Armani Story\u201d and subsequently following the company&#8217;s tours in the United States, Europe, Japan, Russia, and Central America.<br>At the same time, he consolidated his professional relationship with the Puccini Festival, where from 1996 to 2018 he designed the lighting or oversaw the technical filming of numerous productions, including Turandot, Madama Butterfly, Tosca, La Boh\u00e8me, Manon Lescaut, Edgar, La Rondine, La Fanciulla del West, working with directors such as Vivien Hewitt, Sergio Vela, Daniele De Plano, Lorenzo Amato, Renzo Giacchieri, and Ivan Stefanutti. Since 1997, he has further expanded his international activity by collaborating with the ELAN\/Wales company in Cardiff and designing the lighting for shows throughout Europe and Lebanon, including Fairuz&#8217;s opera-musical directed by Daniele Abbado in Baalbeck.
